no starving yourself means you don’t eat at all.
due to all of my food allergies, i don’t eat over 1000 calories either. make sure that you are taking some vitamin supplements though,

It depends on how tall you are and how much you weigh. if you are really tiny, then thats probably okay. but if you are taller than most people, 1000 calories is not sufficient enough to sustain you.

How do you know you are not eating more than 1000 calories a day? If you are not counting, then its very possible that you are eating more than that. From experience, its VERY easy for your daily calorie intake to add up to 1000 or more. Even eating healthy food, no processed foods. Maybe you should do an experiment and try to add up the amount of calories you eat in one day. I think you’ll be surprised how fast it adds up.

But 1000 calories is a very low calorie intake. A person would eat that much on an extreme diet. For example, I am 5′ 7″ and on a weight loss diet I try to eat 1500 calories or less. And that works for me, I do lose weight.

I would say, try to figure out how many calories you are actually taking in to see if 1000 is accurate. And if it is, and you are not really hungry all the time, then its fine. After all, you are eating at least.

    Slim down – remove fat

I won’t say you’re “starving” yourself because you’re still eating food to generate calories.

But eating 1,000 calories a day is not enough. The minimum you ought to go for is at least 1,200 calories a day. Anything lower than this could cause your metabolism to slow down, hence affecting your body’s ability to burn off fat, to lose weight.
